• When a loved one passed away, they believed in preserving the body which was called mummification. The Egyptians believed this would make their soul live forever.

• The Egyptians came up with the idea of using mouldy bread to heal wounds quickly and stop infection. Not knowing if it would work it was just trial and error, but most of the time it actually worked.

• Cats in Egypt were considered as sacred. Believed to be magical and bring luck they were dressed in jewels and fed treats fit for royalty.

• Many inventions were made by the Egyptians, including, medicine, musical instruments, paper, pens, locks, keys, cosmetics, and toothpaste.

• Approximately 95% of Egypt’s population lives along the banks of the River Nile, the longest river in the world. Whatever you decide to do, Egypt has lots to offer.
